Villa Park, home to Aston Villa F.C., was built in 1897 and is one of England's oldest stadiums. It has hosted FA Cup semi-finals as well as sixteen England internationals.

FIFA selected Villa Park to host three group matches in World Cup 1966. This was on the condition that the Witton Lane Stand be upgraded to being all-seater.
