San Mames Stadium
Also known as La Catedral, the San Mames Stadium was located in Bilboa in the Biscay region of Spain. It was home stadium for local team Athletico Bilboa. As well as football, it hosted concerts, for artists such as ACDC. The stadium was demolished in 2013 to make way for the New San Mames Stadium, built on the former site of the Bilbao International Trade Fair.
The San Mames Stadium hosted three matches in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. These matches were Group 4 first round ties. Each game involved England, against France, Czechoslovakia and Kuwait.
