Estadio Tres de Marzo

Located in Zapopan, in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, the Estadio Tres de Marzo is home ground to local team Tecos. Built in 1971, it originally had capacity for 3000 fans. However, when Tecos were promoted from third second division, then to the Primera División de Mexico, the stadium was exapanded. It now has a capcity of 25,000. For the 1986 World Cup, this was temporarily increased to 30,000.

During World Cup 1986, the Estadio Tres de Marzo was used to host three games. Two of these matches were Group D matches, involving Northern Ireland, Algeria and Spain. The other was a Group F between Morocco and Portugal.
