AOL Arena

AOL Arena

Currently known as the Imtech Arena, the AOL Arena as it then called, was used as one of the venues for hosting World Cup 2006.

Originally built as the Volksparkstadion (People's Park Stadium), the AOL Arena has been used two World Cup tournaments. It was used for the 1974 event, hosting three games. In 2006, it was the host venue for five matches, 4 group games and a quarter-final.

Construction: 1951 - 1953, Renovated in 1998

Matches: Argentina 2 : 1 Ivory Coast (June 10), Ecuador 3 : 0 Costa Rica (June 15), Saudi Arabia 0 : 4 Ukraine (June 19), Czech Republic 0 : 2 Italy (June 22), and a quarter-final on June 30 - Italy 3 : 0 Ukraine
