AWD Arena

AWD Arena/Niedersachsenstadion

Originally called the Niedersachsenstadion, the AWD Arena was one of the venues used for World Cup 2006.

The stadium was built in 1952 - 1954 using bricks from homes destroyed in the Second World War. As well as World Cup 2006, it has been used to host matches in international competitions such as World Cup 1974 and the 1988 European Championships.
