Central Stadium, Volgograd

Volgograd Arena is a multi-purpose arena, used by local team FC Rotor Volgograd. It was built near the Volga River, on the site of the demolished Central Stadium. With a previous capacity of 32,120 it was decided that the stadium needed to be upgraded to allow it to accommodate more fans.

Capacity: 45,568

Construction: Costing 17 billion rubles, builders started work on the new stadium in 2015. It was completed in 2018, ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
